The purpose of this study was to see the description of the self-control of a man diagnosed with anxiety disorder. The method used in this study is qualitative research with case study approach
and the sampling technique is non-probability sampling purposeful sampling. The data collection method was by interviewing KN, a 32-year-old man as the subject and three informants, NH, JR, and RA. The two of informants are his coworkers and one of them is his superior at work. The data analysis technique used went through three stages, namely data reduction, data organization, and data interpretation. The result of this research is that the subject of KN is able to fulfill three aspects of self-control. This can be seen when the subject has not gotten a new job, the subject fills
his spare time with more positive things, such as exercising, this illustrates the control of the subject's behavior. Subjects also managed to control their negative thoughts in a positive direction
when their younger siblings stepped on them to marry, this shows the subject's cognitive control. The subject also managed to break off relations with same-sex partners who had existed for approximately 5 years because they felt they were very dependent; this illustrates the control of decision-making within the subject. The conclusion of this study is that the subject managed to control himself when he was under pressure, this was seen from the three aspects of self-control that emerged in the subject, namely behavioral control, cognitive control, and decision-making control. Suggestions from the results of the study are that the subject is expected to be able to maintain the self-control that already exists in him at this time, and it is also hoped that he can improve his self-control for the better.
